Canbor VR Headset Review

The Canbor VR headset is an upper-mid-range VR headset option that caters to those looking for a VR device a bit more reliable than other, lower-range options. This Canbor VR headset review will take a look at this VR headset, and review it on the merits of its design, specs, and more, to help you make an informed decision as to whether this is the right VR headset for you or not.

Canbor VR Headset: Specs

This particular headset’s inclusion of the wireless controller makes this a perfect out-of-box option for gamers. But of course, it also works amazingly for watching 3D videos. The box also comes with a lot of useful maintenance items like cleaning wipes and a microfiber cloth. This product displays the manufacturer’s excellent attention to detail.

Canbor VR Headset: Design & Requirements

The design of this headset was really well thought out. It feels very sleek, and it looks good. Everything is of a high quality, and fits together really well. There are no loose pieces that seem like they would cause a hazard by breaking or worse, letting your device slip out. You should feel at ease that your device is going to remain snug when housed in this headset.

The design choices are good as well. There are cutout ports for headphones and charging cables, enabling you to charge your device while in use, and easily route headphones without Bluetooth. The front cover is removable, even during operation. This allows for airflow to naturally cool your device while in operation. It also does not interfere with operation, due to the three-layer design of the cover.

The straps are fully adjustable, to make sure you get the best fit. The pad easily molds to the shape of your face, and creates a nice seal, keeping out any light. This all adds to the ergonomic nature of the device.

The focal adjustment buttons on the top are easily accessible while wearing the headset, and do not feel easily breakable or flimsy in any way.

Canbor VR Headset: Controls & Display

The device does not have any controls on its body, but it comes paired with a free Bluetooth controller, which will work perfectly for gaming and video playback. Unfortunately, this controller may not work properly with iOS, but other options are available for purchase if you have an Apple device.

The lens itself is of a high quality, designed to keep light out and filter blue light. The manufacturer claims their glass prevents eye strain, reduces leakage, and provides a high clarity.

Canbor VR Headset: Setup

Setup of the hardware is really simple. You simply pop off the cover, and slide in your phone. The mold makes it easy to fit your phone inside correctly. You can attach headphones or a charging cable with ease, thanks to the cutouts.

There are also focal buttons on top, to adjust the distance for your eyes and pupils. The straps around the head are also fully adjustable, for an ergonomic fit.

There is no proprietary app to download on your device. They recommend downloading the Cardboard app, since the device is compatible with many Cardboard apps. It’s also compatible with YouTube VR videos, and 360-degree videos with head tracking.

Canbor VR Headset: User Experience

The user experience with this device is relatively positive. The included controller ensures easy control of the device, without having to pop it out of the headset. It’s an easy thing to take for granted if you’ve never used a VR headset that doesn’t include some kind of controller.

The comfort level of this headset is good. You’ll be able to wear it for hours, but you might feel some fatigue. The glass designed to reduce eye fatigue does seem to work, as you can use the device to watch a full-length movie with minimal to no eye strain.

The device works perfectly with any 3D movies, 3D YouTube videos, and Cardboard apps, without the need for any fiddling on the user’s end. It just works, and that’s a great thing.

Bottom Line

The bottom line about the Canbor VR headset is that it’s a good VR device. You get the wireless controller, and the comfortable glass that prevents eye strain, so the price you pay for it is understandable. Another one of its advantages is the sleek design. You also get a large field of view, cutouts for your cables, and a design that maximizes airflow. While it might not be the most comfortable headset to wear, it’s a good choice for many VR beginners, as well as more advanced users.
